2006 hasn't been that exciting a year for music ... for me ...
But here's my Top 10 Songs of 2006 anyway (in no particular order)

The Whitest Boy Alive - Burning (the less is more theory works best here)
Madonna - Get Together (layers and layers of sonic rapture)
The Arctic Monkeys - Mardy Bum (it's hard to choose one but this is probably my favorite of theirs. cute.)
The Kooks - Ooh La (strong accents get my vote ... again)
The Raconteurs - Steady As She Goes (thank g-d for Brendan Benson)
Lily Allen - Smile (Chav! but ... me likey!)
The Futureheads - Skip to the End (crafty)
Nelly Furtado - Promiscuous Girl (made me do a cover)
The Killers - When You Were Young (proves that they can do more than retro Brit rock)



Big hits of 2006 that I hated (in no particular order - can't decide which I hate more)
Fergie - London Bridge ("Dancing like a ho"? Try "Singing like a cunt". Fergie should just fuck off and die. Josh Duhamel should have his eyes checked.)
Gwen Stefani - Wind It Up (What was she thinking?!)
Justin Timberlake - Sexy Back (weird beats + distorted voice does not a good song make)
Smack That (Akon's music is generally pretty retarted. Eminem couldn't save this song)
Christina Aguilera - Ain't No Other Man (... and I thought Mariah was the Queen of Oversinging)
Gnarls Barkley - Crazy (monster hit. everything about this song feels so soul-less and calculated. biggest hit of last year?! crazy indeed.)
Rhianna - SOS (sampling Soft Cell doesn't automatically give u credit or make ur song cool)
