Liz Phair

I've always loved her and I've just realized how stupid I was to have doubts about her new album. Divorce and middle-age may have mellowed her and the production really is MOR, and yes her vernacular is a lot more "grown-up" now - that's all just part of growing up, isn't it. But what I like about Liz Phair is that she represents this spirit of being true to yourself. Of course she knows what's cool but she always goes for a sound that's true to herself. Thing is she still writes songs that pack wonderful insights and her off-kilter hooks are just so endearing. She's our generation's Joni Mitchell - just she sells so much less records.

My Music

Okay. The final track list has been finalized for a while now. I feel very comfortable with the sequence. The 10 songs feel like they belong together. These are songs that have been under my belt for quite a while. The album will be finished by the end of April. Wish me luck guys. Here's the track list for those who are interested:

1. Beginning Is Easy
2. I'll Let You Know How
3. Here and Now
4. She Never
5. Killing Time
6. One Act Play
7. False Friends
8. I Never Go There
9. Train of Thoughts
10. Hold Me Down
